Join Ballet in the City in historic Saratoga Springs New York to share the power of dance education, and to celebrate the history of the art of dance.

Dancers will engage in activities from master ballet & choreography workshops with notable dancers from The New York City Ballet, a docent led tour of The National Museum of Dance, educational dance history workshops, photo shoots with Ballet in the City photographer Alexis Ziemski, a performance by The New York City Ballet, and more.

2016 Recipient - RACHEL HATTON

The Ballet in the City Scholarship (formerly The Misty Copeland Scholarship) was established in 2015 to honor Ms. Copeland by providing opportunities for African American dancers in classical ballet. To continue this legacy, Ballet in the City will award two $400 scholarships to The American Ballet Theatre's Summer Intensives (or to an alternate program of the applicant's choice) to one male and one female African American dancer. The 2017 recipients should be not only hardworking in the studio, but also demonstrate upstanding character.
